Docks don't work one person at a time.

Receiving software for Acumatica warehouses.

Several receivers on one PO, each in their own session, every receipt posted to Acumatica once — never twice.

The problem

Most WMS receiving is one person, one session, one shot.

Docks don't work that way: two people split a 40-pallet truck, someone gets pulled to a hot order, and the paperwork gets reconciled at 4pm by a supervisor with a clipboard and a good memory.

By then the receipt is a day late reaching Acumatica and nobody can say which of the two receivers scanned the pallet that went missing.

0 Manual ERP entries in the receiving flow
1 Scanner, start to finish

Illustrative only. Two receivers work the same purchase order in separate sessions; a line 12% over the ordered quantity routes to manager approval instead of posting; and one Inventory Receipt reaches Acumatica when the session closes. Document numbers are examples, not a customer's.

What it does

What the scanner does at the dock.

Receiving the way a dock actually runs

Multiple receivers, one PO

Each receiver gets their own session and sees the others' progress live. Split a truck, no duplicate scans.

Over-receiving, three tiers

Auto-approve to 5%. Manager approval to 25%. Hard stop beyond it. Nothing accidental reaches Acumatica.

Pallets move as one scan

License plates generate automatically for bulk. Multi-SKU pallets supported — one pallet, one scan.

What the floor sees

Action-first scanner screen

Quantity needed, bin and product in the largest type on screen. No training manual.

Scan or key it in

Barcode or manual entry, with per-user defaults and mode switching your settings can lock down.

Putaway starts itself

Close the session and putaway tasks dispatch to the floor. No manager handoff.

What the auditor sees

Lot and serial at receipt

Serials assigned at the dock, lots captured once, both carried through putaway, count and pick.

Every session on record

Who received what, how much, when, and which Acumatica receipt it produced.

Returns arrive pre-built

Acumatica return authorizations push in by webhook. The RMA receiving workflow exists before the truck does.

In Acumatica

What posts, and when.

When a receiving session closes, WMSi posts the Inventory Receipt to Acumatica over the REST API and releases it automatically — no manual ERP entry, no overnight batch.

Every post carries an ExternalRef tied to the WMSi session, so a retry after a dropped connection is recognised as the same document and Acumatica never creates a duplicate.

Purchase orders arrive the other way by webhook, so a PO raised in Acumatica is on the scanner in seconds rather than at the next sync.

The ExternalRef and webhook mechanics in full.
